MTU 2000 Diesel engines

The MTU 10V 2000 M96L engine has a power range from 1,015 to 1,193 kilowatts and complies with the EPA Tier 3 emissions standard for recreational vessels. It is characterized by improved acceleration behavior and low fuel consumption. It is available as a 12-cylinder variant with outputs of 1,268 to 1,432 kilowatts and as a 16-cylinder variant with outputs of 1,629 to 1,939 kilowatts.

Reliable and efficient high-performance engines for yachts have a long tradition at MTU. This legacy is continued in the new generation of the 2000 engine series with even better acceleration and low fuel consumption at all rated outputs:

- MTU 2000 for 10 cylinders from 1,015 kW (1.361 bhp) to 1,193 kW (1.600 bhp)
- MTU 2000 for 12 cylinders from 1,268 kW (1.700 bhp) to 1,432 kW (1.920 bhp)
- MTU 2000 for 16-cylinder engines from 1,630 kW (2.185 bhp) to 1,939 kW (2.600 bhp)
In Germany, power generation systems connected to the public grid are required to meet guidelines set by BDEW (German Association of Energy & Water Industries). The MTU 2000 DS is the fi rst genset in its performance class to be certifi ed by the BDEW according to code MSR2008. It complies with all the association’s requirements for power grid operation.
